-I am not sure who those women are that are so disappointed at Hillary losing that they would vote for Palin. Doesn't that mean they are only voting for women regardless of politics.

-Before Palin as VP I thought McCain was a formidable opponent for Obama. After Palin I think McCain is still a formidable oppnent but for all the wrong reasons.

-If you cant say Nuclear instead of Nucular then you shouldn't be president.

I have been watching the olympics every chance I get. Here are some random thoughts:

-I love the epic quality of the olympics.
-It amazes me that nearly every four years we break some kind of speed or time record.
-Yahoo news is not real news and that whole "chinese gymnists being too young" noise needs to be put out of its misery.
-I believe that TKD has some major scoring and judging flaws as well as some other very popular sports. There were a lot of calls I didn't agree with
-Mark Lopez (USA) should have gone to Sudden Death with Korea. The slow motion showed that they kicked each other within a second of each other before the last round ended.
-NBC is not as organized as it seems. There are several sports that are not listed clearly and the commentaries are a joke.

Okay I am starting to complain too much. All in all Olympics are great. When else can you watch running and swimming and other sports you would never see on TV. Can you imagine track and field season on television? I guess its not as fun as basketball but there are plenty of other Olympic sports that are.

I am proud of USA and China and all the other underdogs that come so close but no cigar.

After reading several good and bad reviews of Wall-e, I was annoyed at some of the user reviews.

-"it dragged and was too long"
People have no attention span any more. They did over indulge in the visuals in some parts and could have instead used that time to carry the story on but I also think they wanted to just have some nice moments.

-"There was no talking for the first half of the movie."
Come on... Some of the best most universal films are the ones without speech. I would have been cool if Wall-e didn't make a sound. Are you that overstimulated in your everyday life that you can't focus for a few minutes and appreciate the simple details? If you didn't like that you would hate pretty much all the films made before 1980. They would be too slow and too boring for you.

-"It was too political and made me feel bad about being human"
You made yourself feel bad about being human because you already hate humans...the film didn't do shit. I do agree that they didn't necessarily need to exaggerate their point so much by making everyone huge babies. However the apocalyptic world thing has been done by every sci fi movie and wheter you like it or not we are fucking up our earth. You probably wouldn't watch the inconvienet truth because it would make you feel bad as well. Aww did that make you uncomfortable? I know you work hard and just want to feed your family but we are all in this situation. I guess thats where the complexity of a humorous cartoon and more adult message tried to manifest itself. It was a decent effort but maybe over the top for some.

-"It was too mature for kids."
I can't fully argue with that. But the kid sitting next to had a blast and was excited all the way through. He was like 8 years old. Little kids might not get it though. But seriously I fear for the kids attention span these days.

more insight to come...
